The Egyptian Museum contains the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world , no visit to Egypt is complete without a trip through its galleries.
The Egyptian Museum store was built in Gizeh . In 1891 he was moved to Giza Palace of " Ismail Pasha " which housed the antiquities that were later moved to the present building. The Egyptian Museum is located in Tahrir Square in Cairo . It was built during the reign of Khedive Abbas Helmi II in 1897, and opened November 15, 1902 (More History) . It has 107 rooms . On the ground floor there are the huge statues. The upper floor houses small statues , jewels, Tutankhamen treasures and mummies.

Campaign to recover stolen Egyptian artifacts

Israel has returned a collection of stolen antiquities in Egypt after being found on sale at a auction hall in Jerusalem.
The Department of Antiquities said the collection contains 90 ancient Egyptian artifacts, including clay pots , vases , figurines and stelae Ushabti .
Minister of Antiquities Mohamed Ibrahim told Ahram Online on Saturday in the auction room was exhibited 110 objects, but only 90 were recovered by the Israeli authorities. The other 20 were sold .
 The minister said Egypt had asked the Israeli authorities to take legal proceedings against the auctioneers and trace objects sold. They are ready to do so, he added .

Why did the ancient Egyptians build the pyramids ?

are one of the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only wonder still standing today. There are more than 90 pyramids in Egypt, all of which are on the west bank of the Nile. This is for a religious reason, which is the side of the Nile River as the sun sets.
The most famous Giza pyramid is the Pyramid of Cheops. It is 449 feet high and the sides are 755 feet long. The Pyramids of Giza cover an area greater than ten football fields and consist of more than two million blocks of limestone . The average weight of a single block is about 2 1/2 tons . It's like two midsize cars . However, some blocks can weigh up to 15 tons!this is pyramids of Egypt.

The ushabti , also called shabti shabtis or with a number of variant spellings , plural ancient Egypt ushabtiu was a funerary figurine used in ancient Egypt. Oushebtis were placed in tombs among the grave goods and were intended to replace the deceased, he / she is required to do manual labor in the afterlife . The figures usually carried a hoe on his shoulder and a basket on the back. They were usually written by the use of hieroglyphics typically found on the legs.

Abu Simbel temples in Egypt

Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples in Nubia, they are in southern Egypt. They are situated on the western bank of Lake Nasser,  and west of Aswan .
They were built in approximately 1264 BCE and lasted for about 20 years, until 1244 BCE. Known as the "Temple of Ramesses,. The purpose was to impress Egypt's southern neighbors, and also to reinforce the status of Egyptian religion in the region. Historians say that the design of Abu Simbel expresses a measure of ego and pride in  second Ramesses.
