The Egyptian Museum contains the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world , no visit to Egypt is complete without a trip through its galleries.
The Egyptian Museum store was built in Gizeh . In 1891 he was moved to Giza Palace of " Ismail Pasha " which housed the antiquities that were later moved to the present building. Designed in the neoclassical style by Marcel Dourgnon , Egyptian Museum store has 107 rooms filled with artifacts from prehistory through Roman times , with the majority of the collection focuses on the Pharaonic era. The museum houses approximately 160,000 objects spanning 5,000 years of past of Egypt .
The ground floor takes visitors on a chronological journey through the collections, while objects on the upper floor are grouped according to the grave or category ; exhibits here include the treasures of Tutankhamen, wooden models of everyday life , statuettes of deities , and a rare group of Fayoum portraits. On display on the second floor are also a large number of royal mummies of the New Kingdom in musuem store

The Egyptian museum comprises many sections arranged in chronological order

The first section houses the treasures of Tutankhamun.
The second section houses the pre- dynasty and the OldKingdom monuments.
The third section houses the first intermediate period and the Middle Kingdom monuments .
The following section contains the monuments of modern France .
The fifth section houses the monuments of the late period and the Greek and Roman periods.
The sixth section houses coins and papyrus.
The seventh houses in museum store sarcophagi and scrabs section .

Room for the royal mummies was opened at the museum, which houses eleven kings and queens. More than a million and a half tourists visit the museum annually , in addition to half a million Egyptians visit museum store.
