Egyptian Sphinx is a Riddle, Are you know it?

Egyptian Sphinx is behind  the pyramid of Chehren.The Sphinx is not only Egyptian , but also has roots in ancient Greece and Mesopotamia . The ancient Greeks described the Sphinx as a creature with a woman's head , the body of a lion and wings of a bird.
The riddle of the Sphinx in EGYPT . Legend has it that the Sphinx kept a mountain pass and would only let those who correctly answered the riddle to pass. Those who answered incorrectly would be killed.

The Riddle of the Sphinx goes like this: " What creature walks on four legs in the morning , two at noon and three in the evening ? " The legendary Greek hero Oedipus was able to destroy the Sphinx by providing the correct answer: "Man " .

The Egyptian sphinx is slightly different from the Greek version . It is usually depicted as a lion with a human head . It is associated with the horizon, as the god Harmakhet , another version of the god Horus.

As a symbol of holiness and protection , the Egyptian Sphinx was commonly used as guardian statues for the tombs of pharaohs and high priests. However , the most famous Egyptian sphinx is the one located next to the Pyramids of Giza.

The Sphinx is huge , measuring 74 m  long and 20 m the high . It is located directly east of the Great Pyramid second ( that of Chephren ) , and it faces east , watching the sunrise equinox sun.

Most Egyptologists agree that the Egyptian Sphinx was built at about the same time as the pyramids of Giza , about 2500 BC. This is mainly because the face of the Sphinx bears a strong resemblance to Pharaoh Khafre (Chephren ) , who built the Great Pyramid second . However, there are theories that the Sphinx was built before that time.

The temple beside the Sphinx Surrounding Egyptian Sphinx is a temple complex , probably a place of worship for both the lion god Horus or Ra the sun god , from the Sphinx face at sunrise .

The Sphinx was carved out of a single rock formation , composed of different types of limestone. However, the different layers of limestone have different strengths and therefore eroded at different rates . The head and paws of the Sphinx contained high limestone and therefore escaped much wear. However, the body has eroded depth.

Between the front legs of the rest of the Egyptian Sphinx tablet, commonly called the " Dream Stela ." On it is a history that dates back to the eighteen th Dynasty . The story tells of a time when Pharaoh Thutmose was still a prince.

The Sphinx was at that time buried up to his neck in the sand. During a hunt, the prince fell asleep under the jaw of the Sphinx . He dreamed of the Sphinx told him that if he cleared all the sand and released the Sphinx , it would become Pharaoh. He cleared the sand, and it is true , became pharaoh , even though he had an older brother . Historians believe that he invented the story as a divine excuse for the murder of his brother.
